Trump’s Plan to Dump Food Safety Inspections on States Will Make You Sick
Nothing Says Republicans Care About “The Forgotten Man and Woman” Like Literally Making Them Eat Feces
If you need more proof that Republicans wouldn’t pull a hair to improve the health and wellbeing of the American people, here it is. The Trump maladministration—now fully infested with Project 2025 ghouls destroying government from within—is quietly moving to stop federal food safety inspections. Who knew that America would finally be “great again” when its citizens were dying from preventable maladies that traditionally plague developing nations.
Be Alarmed: Republicans are About to Stop the FDA from Inspecting the Food Supply
According to reports, Trump’s Food and Drug Administration is to end most of its routine food safety inspections, once again, shifting responsibility to state and local authorities.
The FDA has already axed hundreds of food safety staff, slashed nearly a third of its support for state and local food programs, and left grocery shelves increasingly vulnerable to tainted products. The unelected South African sociopath parasite does need more money, after all. I mean, who needs critical food safety advisory committees and all that “woke” concern that our fellow Americans aren’t consuming their next trip to the emergency room they can’t afford to pay for anyway? Scientific expertise is for liberals! Republicans will live on unquestioning political loyalty.
Now we have fewer inspections, delayed recalls, and a food safety system so underfunded and understaffed that even the agency’s own experts warn we’re all one bad batch of deli meat away from another public health crisis for the convicted felon Republican standard-bearer to botch.
That’s right, while simultaneously gutting nearly a third of support for state and local food programs, Republicans are now expecting each state to conduct its own food safety inspections.
“Give it to the states” is one of the old, Republican stand-bys getting an extensive workout these horrible days. Along with “tax cuts for the rich” and “deregulation,” Republicans have a very limited bag of tricks. Rather than actual solutions for the problems we face, Republicans just have their democracy-destroying dogma as they “fix the facts around the policy.” When it all inevitably turns to shite, they blame Democrats and prescribe more of the same failed Republican “ideas” that created the problem in the first place.
Let’s not kid ourselves. Republicans don’t think that "let the states do it” is a magic incantation that will instantly transform a patchwork of underfunded state agencies into a shining city on a hill. They don’t actually care. Pretending they’re carrying out a thoughtfully considered policy agenda is the line they feed the press, who dutifully run with it while Project 2025 infestation in our body politic continues gnawing away at the “Grand Experiment” until it’s the greed-centered, deregulated oligarchy the billionaire parasites have always wanted.
This is about dismantling the federal government brick by brick until the rich and their corporations can steal with abandon while we, the plebeians are forced to play Russian roulette with the food supply.
The Founders didn’t overthrow a king and an intergenerational aristocracy so that today’s so-called conservatives could turn the government they entrusted to us into a banana republic run by democracy-loathing South African billionaire parasites, trust-funded con men and corporate overlords.
But here we are, watching Republicans gleefully gut our government institutions that protect us, all while Traitor Trump’s Nuremberg Rally dupes chant “U-S-A! U-S-A!” as their convicted felon Putin-puppet god/king sexually assaults “Old Glory.”

During his last maladministration, Trump’s USDA pulled highly trained federal food inspectors out of the slaughterhouses they were there to inspect, and put them on an honor system of “self reporting.” Instead of independent, oath-bound inspectors watching the lines for contamination, the new “self-inspection” system put plant employees—often with little to no specialized training—in charge of food safety, all while letting companies crank up murder line speeds with no federal limit.
I can only imagine the phone calls went something like this,
“Hello, murder factory? Any feces, vulvas or toenails in the animal corpses you’re sending to market?”
“Nope. Cross our hearts and hope you die.”
I’m sure you’re not surprised to read that violations for fecal matter, digestive contents, and other indigestible elements doubled.
A 2021 Food & Water Watch report found that these "self-regulated" slaughterhouses had 82% more violations for contamination. But hey, why pay government inspectors when Big Ag can make a buck or two off feeding filth to Americans.
Now, Trump’s FDA wants to do the same for the rest of your food supply. Because nothing says "freedom" like an E. coli infection.
Project 2025’s Plan: Send Everything to the States (So Trump Doesn’t Have to Work)
This isn’t just about food—it’s part of Project 2025’s broader scheme to dismantle the federal government and dump every responsibility onto states.
Trump’s been crying “give it to the states” for a while now. He loves that idea because he doesn’t want to work. The serial bankrupt grifter spent his entire wasted, useless life trying to come up with scams to separate people from their money. He is the epitome of underwhelming and lazy. He never innovated anything or even came up with an original grift. He just recycled scams others came up with and executed better.
Governing Is Hard. Trump Is Lazy. Give it to the States!
America’s first convicted felon president ran for office again to escape the consequences of his life of crime. He doesn’t want to actually do any work. After decades of bouncing from one failed grift to another, he landed the most lucrative scam a tax-cheating, serial-bankrupt con man could’ve ever hoped for. Money in politics is the root of this evil (and that’s a discussion for another article) but Trump—like all malignant narcissists and criminals—is lazy. As are much of his lickspittle Republicans and their big-moneyed owners. That’s why they can’t stand the American experiment and do all they can to rig the game in their favor. They need to write laws to make it easier to steal, scam and make the working people powerless to do anything about it.
The worst president in history just wants the title, the Diet Coke button, and the ego-stroking from Fox News. So instead of, say, protecting public health, his solution is to shrug and tell states to figure it out.
We saw this during COVID, when Trump told governors to scavenge for their own ventilators and PPE while hospitals turned into war zones. Traitor Trump’s ineptitude and laziness saddled the U.S. with the worst death toll in the developed world as we watched doctors, nurses and front-line essential workers washing out their N95 masks and wearing trash bags as "protective gear."
Now, he wants to do the same for food safety, education, labor laws, and civil rights—because if there’s one thing Republicans hate, it’s a unified, capable and functioning nation that works for more than just the billionaire parasites who own them.
The Founders Already Tried “Give it to the States”—It Was a Disaster
The MAGAt GOP is ignorant of American history, so here’s a bit of a lesson.
Before the Constitution, this country was run under the Articles of Confederation—a weak, “let the states do it” disaster where the federal government couldn’t muster the power to defend the nation or pay its bills. Economic chaos was the currency of the realm. Trade wars broke out between states and Congress was powerless to do anything about it. The new nation couldn’t even collect necessary taxes to pay for defence—or our war debts.
Learning from the mistakes of allowing a patchwork of squabbling states to run their own little fiefdoms unchecked, the Founders debated, wrote, and ratified a Constitution that created a strong federal government.
While Republicans love to wave their pocket Constitutions to justify everything from child labor to blocking universal healthcare, here they are, centuries later, with Trump and his Project 2025 goons hell-bent on saddling us with yet another failed experiment we all thought was firmly smashed in history’s trash bin.
Why? Because making America herself a failed experiment is the goal.
Divide and Conquer
Let’s be clear, dismantling the federal government is a gift to the democracy loathing billionaires and dictators who control the Republican party. A weak, fractured America—where red states ban food inspections, blue states try to enforce them, and corporations run rampant over the people, profiteer and exploit the chaos. This is exactly what Putin’s favorite president is gifting America’s enemies.
Trump doesn’t care. He just wants to punt every responsibility so he can spend his days golfing, rage-tweeting and getting his ass kissed by sycophants.
To sum it up, we are facing yet another assault on our dignity, decency and democracy that can’t be allowed to stand. Dismantling of federal food safety inspections is a direct threat to public health that endangers our families, communities and the nation itself.
So, I ask again. How much longer are we going to take it, people? How much longer?
