Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” Budget is a Blueprint for Turning America into the United States of Serfs and Lords
All workers suffer under Republican rule, and Red States will keep getting worse
It’s often said that a budget is a statement of morals. That being the case, we can once again see that Republicans have none. Along with their immorality, they’ve thrown decency and human dignity down the golden toilet.
The numbers are staggering. House Republicans have unveiled a budget that slashes Medicaid by nearly a trillion dollars over the next decade in order to help fund $4.5 trillion to the total tax cuts Republicans and their greedy parasite billionaire owners are aiming for. To get there, Republicans are dismantling food, health, science, education programs and more—while locking in Trump’s $2 trillion tax breaks for corporations and the wealthy
This isn’t “fiscal responsibility”, it's a calculated assault on what’s left of the American Dream. Let’s list the horrors:
Massive Tax Cuts for the Wealthy and Corporations
$4.5 trillion in tax cuts, primarily benefiting high-income individuals and corporations.
Extension of the expiring Trump-era tax cuts, which disproportionately favor the already rich.
Additional tax breaks for manufacturing companies and the elimination of taxes on tips, overtime pay, and Social Security-provisions that sound good to the ears of MAGAt dupes, but as Annie Lowrey from the Atlantic explained,
“Although the exemption of tips and overtime seems like it would benefit waiters and sales clerks, it will likely make the tax code more regressive. Most low-income workers do not pay federal income taxes, and hedge-fund managers and lawyers will figure out how to tie the provision into a loophole. Similarly, the Social Security plan would help rich retirees more than poor ones. However distributed, the cuts would be expensive.”
In other words, more loopholes for the rich to avoid paying taxes
Deep Spending Cuts to Social Programs
As usual for the Republicans who all claim Jesus as a “savior” they pretend to worship, there are draconian spending cuts to programs that help the poor. From $1.5 trillion to $2 trillion, say “bye bye” to domestic discretionary programs that feed hungry people.
Thanks to $163 billion in cuts to education, health care, and housing, we’ll also have more dumb, sick and unhoused Republican voters
Elimination of funding for foreign aid and green energy initiatives.
Attacks on Medicaid and Health Coverage
Nearly $880 billion in cuts to domestic programs, with Medicaid as a primary target. Republican Jesus has ONE sacrament – bashing trans people.
While Donnie 2 Dolls and the billionaire elites pal around with Saudi princes who lord over a literal Handmaids Tale, Republicans want sick Americans to find those bootstraps and get to work. As usual, Republicans think the American worker is far too lazy and needs help from their sick granny or neighbor.
All to give the morbidly rich more of a ride on granny’s back, Republican have inflicted work requirements, stricter eligibility checks, and cost-shifting to states, which could result in nearly 9 million people losing federal health insurance and make coverage less affordable for millions more.
But, please all notice the shiny gold crosses they sport!
The Congressional Budget Office estimates these changes would leave millions of eligible beneficiaries without coverage, especially if states cannot fill the funding gaps — but that’s the point, isn’t it?
Cuts to Student Loan Relief and Repayment Plans
Repeal of the Biden administration’s SAVE income-driven repayment plan for student loans, forcing borrowers into fewer, less generous repayment options. Forget investing in the future and helping our fellow Americans get established in life — as they do in civilized nations. Donnie 2 Dolls and his billionaire masters don’t want an educated populace, they want indentured servants to Banksters.
Reductions in Support for Children and Families
Fewer children would have access to school meals, educational support, and summer programs. Never mind that school lunch programs help developing brains and, thus, benefit us all in the future by creating fully-functioning adults. The “greatest country on Earth” is a shithole when Republicans are in charge.
Reduced funding for community development, infrastructure, and clean air initiatives, hitting struggling communities hardest. Because the Republican “shining city on a hill” is a crumbling ruin whose glory days died with FDR’s dream of a Second Bill of Rights (that Democrats need to revive, if they know what’s good for us all).
Forget About Scientific Research and Innovation
Cuts to research funding, including cancer research at universities, and reductions in support for medical and scientific innovation. Don’t worry, you’ll always have Ivermectin.
Budget Gimmicks and Lack of Fiscal Responsibility
Use of budgetary maneuvers to "fabricate" the cost of the package, undermining transparency and accountability— because Republicans don’t want to have to explain themselves to angry voters at the town halls they infrequently have.
The plan would add an estimated $3 trillion to the deficit over the next decade, despite claims of fiscal responsibility. Last time the worst president in history left office, he added $4 trillion to the deficit. Why stop the hypocrisy now?
Increased Funding for Border Security and Immigration Enforcement, Because Republicans Need Scapegoats and Distractions
The Department of Homeland Security is the only agency slated for a significant funding increase, with a focus on border security and immigration enforcement. Hey, Republicans need to have a their brown-skinned whipping posts to distract with.
Impact on the Working Class and Vulnerable Populations
The burden of financing these tax cuts would fall on marginalized groups, with long-term consequences for economic growth and social mobility.
Those oh-so-Christian kiss up/kick down Republicans never miss an opportunity to betray the working class and raise costs for American families to pay for tax breaks for the wealthy.
Republicans Drain the Lifeblood from the Red State Communities they Pretend to Represent
Red states—those bastions of GOP loyalty—are set to bear the brunt of this catastrophe.
In Mississippi, for example, 22% of residents depend on Medicaid. The proposed cuts could strip half a million people of their coverage. Texas, already notorious for having the highest rate of uninsured children, faces the elimination of SNAP benefits critical for one in seven households. Yet, these are the same states where voters consistently choose the architects of their misery. The irony is lethal.
Consider the facts: the 15 states with the worst life expectancy, highest maternal mortality rates, and lowest educational outcomes have been under uninterrupted GOP control for decades. Alabama hasn’t voted blue in a presidential election since 1976. West Virginia, now trailing in healthcare access, has been red for 24 years. This isn’t mere coincidence; it’s causation.
This cruelty is both transparent and profitable. Red states now rank highest in corporate welfare, doling out $8 billion annually in subsidies to Amazon and Walmart, which pay poverty wages. The workers? They are left to rely on the very Medicaid programs Republicans are seeking to dismantle. It’s a perfectly orchestrated grift.
This budget isn’t an anomaly; it is the culmination of a 50-year project to dismantle democracy and entrench oligarchy. The communities waving MAGAt flags as their schools close, their water is poisoned, and their jobs evaporate are not just victims—they are the marks in a con they have unwittingly embraced.
Red State Representatives: Pulling the Trigger on Their Own Constituents
Mississippi, where the GOP has held power for 40 years. Here, one in three children lives in poverty, and 22% rely on Medicaid. Rep. Michael Guest (R) voted for this disgraceful budget—a death sentence for rural hospitals in his community already on the brink. Yet, Governor Tate Reeves diverts attention by banning transgender athletes—an issue affecting exactly zero Mississippi schools.
West Virginia, under GOP rule for 24 years, has the highest opioid death rate in the nation. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R) claims to support recovery while voting to gut Medicaid, which funds half of addiction treatment services. Capito’s “solution,” of course is a bill banning gender-affirming care for minors.
In Alabama, Rep. Gary Palmer (R) champions a budget that slashes $290 billion in SNAP cuts over a decade, and about 700,000 Alabamians (roughly 14%) receive SNAP benefits. Alabama’s GOP supermajority is too busy passing bans on transgender bathroom access to care their constituents are going hungry.
Kentucky, Mitch McConnell’s stronghold for 39 years while his state ranks 39th in education with a 20.9% child poverty rate. Great going, Moscow Mitch! Rep. James Comer is too busy investigating Hunter Biden’s laptop to actually do anything for the people he pretends to represent. Meanwhile, Kentucky’s legislature prioritizes criminalizing drag shows—a “threat” more urgent than the fact that 14.68% of South Carolinians lived below the poverty line in 2023.
Texas leads the nation in uninsured children, but whenever he gets the opportunity, Senator Ted Cruz votes to repeal the Affordable Care Act. again, It’s ok. Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick declares transgender athletes his “top priority,” pledging to “save women’s sports” as Texas women bleed out in parking lots.
Florida, controlled by the GOP since 1999 while insurance reforms cause coastal constituents to drown in higher premiums, less coverage, and increased financial burden while climate change eats their state inch by inch. Don’t worry, Governor Ron DeSantis’ war on “woke” and book bans will distract Republican voters.
Here’s a few more Red State stats:
Oklahoma (Republican since 2008): HALF of rural hospitals are at risk of closure if Republicans slash Medicaid.
Tennessee (red since 2000): 1 in 5 kids face hunger as Republicans rejects federal food funds as “socialism.” It’s only going to get worse if the Republican budget passes.
Idaho (GOP since 1992): 40% of schools on a four-day week due to budget constraints while the Republicans legislature spends $2 million suing over transgender care bans.
Red states take 40% more federal aid than they pay in taxes, yet their representatives vote to dismantle the safety net their voters depend on.
Why? Because culture-war rage is cheaper than healthcare and blaming transgender kids won’t cost billionaires a dime.
The anti-trans bills will keep coming, serving as a smokescreen for looting Social Security, Medicare and programs that actually make America great.
Republicans know their voters won’t hold them accountable as long as Putin floods the social media platforms with lies and Rupert Murdoch’s poison pustules pump out the fascist propaganda. When Nancy Mace and her co-conspirators are in the bathroom on pee-pee patrol, pay no attention to the “shining city on a hill” turning to shite.
The Republican budget is a hatchet, chopping away at the body politic and the flesh of working-class communities while shielding the wealthy from the inconvenience of a papercut.
The MAGAts aren’t just marks—they are cheering their own demise and taking us all with them. It’s up to all good people to resist.
