How Trump is killing small business, and why
When I was a kid, my small town had a small grocery store owned by a local family, and a hardware store owned by another local family, and a number of other local businesses selling anything from eyewear to lingerie. Then Wal-Mart came, and all those businesses went away. First I’ll tell you how it happened, and then I’ll tell you how Trump and his tariffs are doing the same thing to America that Wal-Mart did to my hometown all those years ago.
