Cutting Medicaid in the middle of the night is 100% on brand

Democracy dies in darkness, especially when Republicans hold votes in the dead of night.

Videos have been circulating of both Democrats and Republicans falling asleep during last night’s debates over the egregious cuts to Medicaid in Trump’s bigly stupid “Big Beautiful Bill,” which is actually a giant pile of death wrapped in bullshit. The House Energy and Commerce Committee’s marathon overnight session might be giving us viral moments, but what’s missing is the outrage from MAGA over losing their healthcare and other benefits they need to survive on the daily.

I know exactly who needs to hear this, but I’ll say it anyway: OUR GOVERNMENT ISN’T SUPPOSED TO BULLY US OR TAKE ANYTHING AWAY FROM US. Our government is supposed to provide for the common defense and promote the general welfare. If you could name one member of the Republican Party who’s doing anything remotely like that, I’d be happy to give them props, but I’m not too concerned about being overwhelmed in the comments.
