Another day, another eye-opening exhibit of the Republican Party's callousness as we brace for the next four years. As California is engulfed in wildfires, Republicans are spreading lies and using federal disaster aid as a bargaining chip.
Republicans are threatening to withhold much-needed aid for California's wildfires unless their conditions are met. House Speaker Mike Johnson has the audacity to suggest that there should be "conditions on that aid." Meanwhile, Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso insists that “there can’t be a blank check,” claiming he expects “strings attached” to any money that is eventually approved.
