Promises, Promises. Trump's 100 Days of Making Life Worse for Everyone
Republicans make America sicker, dirtier, and more divided than ever
Republicans just don’t break promises—they reverse progress, punish the poor, and give the rich a free ride off everyone’s backs.
We are 100 days into Trump’s second act, watching the same carnival barker spew lies while his circus of freaks and curiosities inflict their sicknesses on this struggling society—this time with fewer guardrails and no net. For all the grandstanding about restoring greatness, the real “feat” has been making America less safe, less trusted, and less admired, all while ensuring life is measurably harder for the very folks who bought the ticket and forced us all to take the ride with them.
Now that 31% of the voting public has given their Lord and Savior, Donald Jesus Trump, the Executive Office he coveted solely to escape the consequences for his life of crime, he’s happily unleashed the dark forces of conservatism that have been trying to roll back the American Revolution since Lexington and Concord.
Just like it’s done under every Republican administration for the past hundred years, the only thing “trickling down” is more stress, higher costs, and a harder life for working people—while the already obscenely rich rake-in even more cash than than they could spend in a thousand lifetimes.
Instead of building on Biden’s policies that actually helped Americans—even the ones in those poorly run red states that keep voting against their own interests—Trump and his Republican cronies are working their greedy clutches to the bone, destroying anything that might put working people on an even playing field and give them a fighting chance at a decent, middle class life.
Apparently, investing in America’s future is “woke,” but “triggering” and/or “drinking the tears” of your fellow Americans is now a governing philosophy.
But don’t take it from me alone, on their serial bankrupt, tax-cheating, draft-dodging, wannabe-dictator standard bearer’s 100th day back in office, the White House Trump stains is busy touting a “conservative’s dream come true” —as it continues to slash federal jobs, cut lifelines and turn “America the beautiful” into a toilet for corporate waste.
Now that he has his greed-centered clutches around the neck of power again, let’s look at the ways “The Art of the Steal” is making everything suck, in keeping with his unbroken record of destroying everything he touches.
Let’s break Down The Grifter’s Promises, With Receipts:
Promise: Lower Gas Prices
Reality:
Trump swore that on “Day One,” he’d slash gas prices by “unleashing American energy” through more drilling and fossil fuel expansion.
Gas prices haven’t dropped—they’ve risen under his watch.
Instead of lowering costs, As of April 2025, the national average for regular gasoline is about $3.21 per gallon, according to AAA. This is higher than the average price of $3.08 per gallon in January 2025, when Trump was inaugurated for his current term.
The con man is also screwing America for the long term by attacking renewable energy investments, leaving the United States behind in the inevitable global transition to cheaper, cleaner alternatives. Trump’s first act was to roll back Biden’s climate regulations, giving oil companies free rein to pollute while pocketing record profits.
AND in another clear example of how Republicans rob everyday Americans to give it to the rich, Uncle Scam also fast-tracked drilling permits on public lands, making sure the benefits went straight to shareholders—not we, the plebians.
Promise: Lower Grocery Prices
Reality:
The self-proclaimed “champion of the people,” promised us cheaper groceries on Day One. Like all the promises of a con man, all we got was a big, beautiful bill at the checkout.
Don’t let the MAGA cult gaslight you. Grocery prices are higher now than when Trump took office in January 2025, and this is before the full impact of his tariff tantrum even hits.
As with any con man’s grifts, reality is incidental. He’ll just lie about it. Here’s the worst president in American history, on April 17th, bald-faced lying that grgas prices hit $1.98 in “some states” and groceries are “down”—stats that are easily debunked. They even tweeted these lies from an official account. Seriously? Do MAGAts actually believe the con man or their own eyes and wallets?
Promise: Largest Deportation in American History
Reality:
According to the Migration Policy Institute, Trump is on track to deport about 500,000 people this year-less than the 685,000 deported under Biden in 2024.
It doesn’t matter that the numbers don’t fit the narrative. Trump hopes everyone will be distracted by Kristi Noem’s cosplay.
Meanwhile, his dragnet is so reckless it’s swept up legal immigrants, tourists, and even American citizens, all to inflate his stats, I guess.
Promise: Much Better and Cheaper Healthcare
Reality:
Remember President Carnage’s “concepts” of a healthcare plan? Well, like all Republican “plans”, that means “make the little guy pay.” The ONLY “plan” Republicans have for America’s health is to return to the bad-old-days before the Affordable Care Act and the abhorrent, inhumane policies that made it necessary to begin with.
So far, Traitor Trump has done his worst to weaken the little protections millions rely on.
First, he halted Biden’s drug price negotiations-talks that were set to lower costs for ten major medications, including insulin and heart drugs.
At the same time, the Mar-a-Lago Mussolini gutted the ACA’s marketing budgets, making it harder for low-income Americans to even know how to enroll.
As for the rest of his so-called “plan”, so far, it’s letting insurance companies sell junk plans that don’t cover pre-existing conditions.
The result of this Republican ineptitude and indifference is more uncertainty, less coverage, and a return to a “your money or your life” health care system.
When will the American people stop giving Republicans the power to destroy them?
Promise: Bring Back Manufacturing Jobs
Reality:
Don the Con pledged a blue-collar boom but in reality, his policies have hurt manufacturers.
He called for the repeal of Biden’s $52.7 billion CHIPS Act—the very law that was fueling a surge in U.S. semiconductor and clean-energy manufacturing and had already drawn tens of billions in private investment and thousands of new jobs.
Companies responded to this baboonery by canceling or pausing nearly $8 billion in clean-energy projects just this year, a sharp reversal from the growth under Biden.

His “Art of the Fail” trade wars led to retaliatory tariffs on U.S. goods, hurting farmers and small businesses.
The Orange Menace also killed Biden’s “Made in America” incentives, which were bringing semiconductor and clean-energy manufacturing back to the U.S. Now, companies are outsourcing again—while Trump’s NLRB appointees make it harder for workers to unionize.
Promise: Make College Affordable Again
Reality:
The first 100 days have been a wrecking ball for college affordability. We’re talking about investing in America’s future by ensuring everyone who wants a higher education can get one, but Republicans are ensuring that education is a providence of the rich—just like in the Dark Ages they’re dragging us to.
Trump ended Biden’s student loan forgiveness program, abruptly halting relief for millions of borrowers and restricting eligibility for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program
He also moved to dismantle Biden’s income-driven repayment plans, leaving borrowers with fewer options and less hope for eventual debt cancellation.
As for the Pell Grant, the main lifeline for low-income students, the program is now facing a $2.7 billion deficit, raising fears of future cuts or reduced eligibility if Congress doesn’t step in. Unlikely, as long as Congress remains in Republican clutches.
Trump’s executive actions have once again opened the door for for-profit colleges to return to their old tricks, with fewer regulations to stop predatory practices, of course.
His only “solution” is to push income-share agreements, a scheme that can trap graduates in years of high payments, with no real relief in sight. At every turn, Republicans look for ways to make it harder for average Americans to get ahead.
In MAGAt “Utopia”, who needs education when you have right-wing “influencers” literally funded by the Kremlin.
Promise: Drain the Swamp
Reality:
In just three months, Trump has packed his cabinet and key agencies with corporate lobbyists, industry insiders, and loyalists whose financial interests often align with the very industries they’re supposed to regulate.
Big Oil executives are now running the EPA, and Wall Street bankers are overseeing financial regulation-while the administration moves to gut environmental protections and roll back oversight on banks.
Ethics watchdogs warn that conflicts of interest are rampant, and the revolving door between government and business is spinning faster than ever.
ITrump’s family may not be as visible in official White House roles this time, but their influence still looms over policy and politics.
While Trump rails against “the swamp,” the Mar-a-Lago spy-magnet is open for business with donors are shelling out thousands for access and photo ops at exclusive fundraisers, cementing the pay-to-play culture he once promised to end.
In this first 100 days of Hell, the only thing getting drained is the public’s trust along with America’s once-good name in the world.
Promise: End Putin’s Illegal Invasion of Ukraine
Reality:
Revealing not only his inability to understand the complexities of global diplomacy but also his disturbing allegiance to Vladimir Putin, draft-dodging Cadet Bone Spurs promised to end the war in Ukraine within 24 hours.
Of course, by “ending the war in Ukraine,” Putin’s favorite puppet means “giving his master everything he wants.” History warns us that authoritarians are never satisfied, but Trump is not a student of history, much less reality.
The world won’t soon forget the truly disgraceful display that took place in the Oval Office when draft-dodging Cadet Bone Spurs and the country’s most disliked Vice President debased America's reputation when they had the audacity to scream at President Zelenskyy in the Oval Office. Of course, the two cowards would never dare to treat Vladimir Putin similarly.
I’m sure the ALL CAPS will do it, though Putin has yet to STOP.
Hey, wait! I thought Trump had a “great relationship” with “Vladimir” and could get a “deal” because of it.
So shocking the ol’ KGB agent won’t listen to his most high-value Russian asset, even if they are on a first-name basis. It’s almost like “Vladimir” thinks Trump is a useful idiot or something.
Trump is Such a POS, He’s Destroying Biden Effective, Popular Policies That Help People
1. Ending Free Narcan Distribution
Biden made overdose-reversal drugs like Narcan free nationwide, saving thousands from opioid deaths. Trump’s new budget cuts the $56 million grant for Narcan distribution, putting countless lives-especially in rural, Trump-voting areas-at risk.
2. Slashing Meals on Wheels
Biden expanded funding for Meals on Wheels to feed homebound seniors, many in red states.
Trump’s maladministration is dismantling the agency overseeing Meals on Wheels, laying off staff and closing regional offices, which threatens the program’s future. If Trump and the Republicans get their way, more elderly Americans will be left hungry and isolated.
It’s absolutely unconscionable, but that’s the Jesus-lovin’ Republicans for you!
3. Defunding Rural Broadband
Biden’s infrastructure bill brought high-speed internet to rural towns—many of them “MAGA country” of course. Though, there they go again, voting for their own demise. Trump’s executive order paused broadband funding, throwing the future of rural internet expansion into limbo and leaving many a Trumpanzees in the digital dark. Unfortunately, good people are hurt too.
4. Destroying LIHEAP (Low-Income Home Energy Assistance)
Biden helped families heat their homes in winter so, naturally, Trump’s draft budget proposes eliminating LIHEAP funding, and his HHS Secretary has already fired the staff responsible for distributing these funds, paralyzing the program.
5. Reviving the “Public Charge” Rule
Biden ended the cruel policy that denied green cards to immigrants who used public benefits. So, the president for the evangelical Christians is moving to reinstate this rule, making immigrant families to choose between basic needs and their legal status. Forget “welcome the stranger,” the Republicans love kicking the stranger—hard and often.
6. Rolling Back Clean Water Protections
Biden regulated toxic “forever chemicals” (PFAS) in drinking water. Trump’s EPA withdrew these protections, letting corporations pollute again and putting public health at risk. What does Traitor Trump care? His water is nice and clean.
So, there you go. This is just a small slice of the nonstop offenses against decency, dignity, democracy and humanity that are coming at us faster than we can process.
In the first 100 days of America’s first convicted felon president, it's crystal clear that this administration isn’t just a continuation of past failures—it’s a full-blown assault on progress and democracy itself.
We’re witnessing a deliberate devolution into oligarchy with policies that cater exclusively to the wealthy while leaving the most vulnerable among us to fend for themselves. Is that what a “shining city on a hill” does to its people? I think not.
Still, I am left to ponder the stupidity of anyone who voted for the hollow promises of lower prices, more jobs, improved healthcare and a “great again” country made by a serial bankrupt tax-cheat who's never done anything in his self-serving life to benefit anyone other than himself.
If his next 100 days are like his first, we know worst is yet to come.
But this is not a call to surrender. It is a call to action—a rallying cry to take to the streets, resist complacency and demand accountability. After all, the question remains: How much longer are we going to take it, people? How much longer?
