If you want a good laugh, just skim the headlines after the latest jobs report, like Axios breathlessly declaring, “U.S. economy adds 147,000 jobs in June, defying slowdown expectations.” Defying expectations? Please. It’s like the media’s running a Trump infomercial, selling us on the idea that a mediocre jobs report is a miracle so long as it happens on Trump’s watch.
