Jimmy Kimmel is back on ABC/Disney tonight but millions won’t see him because the billionaire family behind Sinclair Broadcast Group and the Trump-suckling suits at Nexstar have preempted his show across their networks. Instead, the billionaires will treat the plebeians to their corporate-sanctioned “news”, together blocking Kimmel from about a quarter of ABC’s reach.

This isn’t just about one late-night host. When billionaire broadcasters pull content to coddle Trump and shield him from a comedian mocking his crocodile tears for Charlie Kirk, it’s a clear demonstration that American media is part of our authoritarian problem.
